Canon which succeeded with its semi professional camera in PowerShot G, likely wish to return to satisfy pocket camera mid-end market by presenting PowerShot G9. Camera which is first launched in Europe has many new feature, but still not forget the comfort to use side for common user and also professional.

From its physique, G9 clearly has significant difference compared to its previous product. Change at grip and thumb rest design is intentionally done by Canon so G9 can be steadier to grab. But the big change actualy is not at the design, but there is at LCD screen size that now is having 3 inch size with PureColor LCD II addition technology. LCD technology like this offers picture display with better contrast level mainly at wide angle photos. Even having 3 inch LCD, view finder still able to be found in PowerShot G9, especially for the user which more fluent with manual composition.

The other amazing thing from this camera is the 12, 1 megapixel which compressed in 1/17” sensor. This means PowerShot G9 has higher sensor level resolution compared to EOS 400D series which is the DSLR entry level camera.

This high resolution sensor also accompanied by quality lens. With 35 until 210mm (equivalent 35mm) focus length means G9 user is given choice to arrange object composition until 6X magnification. In this lens Canon also plants two sides’ asperis optic which functioning to eliminate distortion effect at lens. There is also exist lens SR layer to ascertain photo object clear from ghosting and colour abrasion.
