The Realis X700’s measured contrast ratio is low, at 130:1, yet it still manages to outshine the competition. The main drawback is cost, although its $2,500 price is actually cheap for this technology.

Setting up the X700 is simple: Connect the appropriate cables, adjust the image size, and either focus manually with the remote or hit the Auto Set button to let the unit correct the setting for you.

The X700 has an impressive number of ports and cables for a business projector. The unit offers analog and digital ports and can connect with your PC, external audio setup, or component video source. It also ships with a soft carrying case and a bundle of cables: a USB cable, an RGB-component video-to-VGA cable, and a VGA-to-DVI cable.

The X700 excelled on our tests, doing surprisingly well at projecting video, which is an unusual advantage for a business projector. I measured the X700's brightness at 2,906 lumens, about 73 percent of the claimed 4,000 lumens. That’s a slightly lower percentage than most projectors deliver, but it's also the brightest projector we’ve tested. The system's one flaw is its virtually useless built-in audio, but that's not shocking for a business projector.

The X700 certainly doesn't come cheap, but if you're in the market for an XGA projector, this is the finest option out there right now for better, brighter images.

Sanyo gives it title “World's Shortest Projection Distance”. For your info, to present projection object as wide as 80 inch, this projector only requires shoot distance to screen as far as 8 centimeter.

Mean, this projector can be drawn near until almost patch to screen. Hence, it also guarantees projection result which free of presenter shadow as result of projector lamp spotlights.

If compares to NEC WT610 projector. At 61 cm shoot distance, this projector only can present result of projection as wide as 78 inch.

Sanyo can double the shoot distance with more sophisticated projection technology. NEC WT610 only apply mirror to cut short shoot distance, while Sanyo PLC-XL50 applies combination between lenses and non-sferical mirror, or mirror which do not bounce electromagnetic impulse.

This projector applies LCD XGA machine (resolution 1024 x 768). Brightness level presented by it is reaching 2000 lumens.

As for its contrast ratio reaching 600 : 1. This is including bright for a LCD projector. Color presented from computer screen is sharply enough and still saves detail in video dark part.

What little bothering is noise and posterization effect when presenting skin color. Discoloration happened seen not gradual, but drastic.

Meanwhile, this projector built-in audio system shows result that is surprising enough. It can yield hard enough sound and fulfills a big room.

The projector which aiming at business class of course gives better product quality than demonstrates the multimedia feature. Therefore all the functions pertained simple according to the market share. The function button is simple and only provides standard feature like power, auto of image, keystone, presets, menu, select, volume and source.

Canon also applies this LCOS technology at their newest projector, Xeed SX60. Besides usage of high class technology, Xeed SX60 also is equipped with other great specification; SXGA+ resolution (1400pixel x 1050 pixel), 2500 ANSI powered lamp, and optical with 1,7x zoom ability. No wonder if this projector have really luxurious price, which is $ 3900.

But can be said that the price good match for quality given. When we are testing it with Eizo Test software, this projector can produce satisfying quality. Primary color accuration like red, yellows, and blue seen accurate, so also the secondary color like purple, green, and orange. Its sharpness nor disappoints, seen from its ability presenting small size text. The weakness is in its contrast ratio, because only can differentiate black gradation between 18-21% (compares to InFocus IN-36 which able to differentiate between 15-18%). But the number actually has been above the average, so that in quality XEED SX60 is one of best projector which we tested.

We also likes its lens which having zoom ability until 1,7x. Its make this projector can produce big picture projection though in short distance. When we try it at around 3 meters distance, the picture which produce reaches 154 x 115 cm. This shows XEED SX60 also able to be applied even in a small space.

With the price range at $ 3900, Canon Xeed SX60 of course is not for standard usage. This projector more compatibly if you applied it for big sized meeting space or when you wish to build your home cinema.
