If DoCoMo launch and calls their watch phone technology as wristphone, hence Samsung also give different name to its product that is Watch Phone.

Watch Phone applies GSM 800 MHz and 1800 MHz network. Moreover, Samsung also fully equipped it with GPRS and Bluetooth data network package.

With OLED (Organic Light Emitting Display) screen 256 colors, dimension 1,2 inches and resolution 96x64 pixel, Samsung has equipped the watch phone with built-in WAP browser. Watch Phone has weight 2,8 ounces and dimension 1,5x2,5x1,7 inches. Watch Phone also has 40 polyphonic ringtone and speaker-phone. Moreover, this Watch Phone also applies battery which having 80 hours stand-by time and 90 minutes talk time.

In Hanover, Jerman, Samsung also introduces "Dick Tracy" watch phone. This gadget also supports the voice-dial application, phone book and equipped with 40 polyphonic ringtone. This telephone has weights 80 grams and dimension 37,8 x 64 x 17,7 mm, supports WAP 1,2, Bluetooth and speakerphone technology.

With the resolution size 96 x 64 pixels, this made in Samsung phone Samsung mentioned as the smallest GPRS watch phone in the world. Do not want to left behind with Korea, China also launch their watch phone product through China Electronics Corporation. This time China equipped the phone display, which called F88, just like a standard phone, which is keypad, color screen, and camera. Unhappily, this watch phone only bases on CDMA 1x network.

F88 has dimension 38,3 x 76,7 x 17 mm. China adds voice record ability in the product, although only for four minutes. While to apply it as a phone, it’s required a cable which girded like ring in user finger. To receive a phone call, the ring must be drawn near to ear. Comes up with 256 STN color screen and having removable camera which able to be turned around 180°, maybe this made in Chine watch phone can be said better from the Samsung product.

Its WAP ability, 120 minutes talk time and 100 hours stand-by time, closed this product weakness which only had CDMA network. Other company like Motorola and Siemens actually has demonstrated their watch phone, but unhappily hasn’t launch to the market.

It really amazes me how many sites ignore the fact that these Korean-made devices are but expensive imitations of the Chinese models, which have been around for the last couple of years.I'm an admitted gadget freak, but I'll gladly forgo any extra function the Hyundai, Samsung or LG may provide if I can buy a quality Chinese model for a fraction of the price.
