Nikon D300: 12 Megapixel DSLR from Nikon


Almost 2 year after launch D200 series, Nikon now release D300 series which is newest professional camera in mid-end class. The interesting in this series is 12 megapixel CMOS sensor usage with automatic dirt reducer feature. This feature is new technology which figured in by Nikon at their camera, remembers there are not one of Nikon DSLR series having this feature.

Besides dirt remover feature and 12 megapixel sensor, Nikon also increases picture processor system in D300 by planted EXPEED picture processor. Camera using this processor said has more efficient power and can produce free noise picture. Focus sensor improvement also done by Nikon with installing CAM3500DX automatic focus sensor which able to provide 51 focus area in D300.

Nikon D300 performance is not questionable again. With standard battery, this camera can record until 6 frame in one second (6 fps). While if using additional accessories like vertical grip that attached with additional battery, picture capture performance can increase until 8 fps.

To support its performance activity, Nikon provides 2 models in its camera; there is USB 2.0 and HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface). HDMI connection in D300 can be said new and uniques, because DSLR not usually added this connection. If you liked to play with accessories, Nikon provides 10 pins connection which able to be connected with GPS (Global of Positioning System) peripheral. It’s useful to add information about location and picture capture time.
